As a highschooler, you have so much going on that it’s difficult to give up a precious Saturday to take a practice test; consequently, you may wonder if it is worth the sacrifice. You should know that taking an initial test is actually the best way to start your test prepping process. We recommend taking a practice test in order to get a baseline score. This baseline score will tell you where you are in your preparation for the actual test. You may take practice tests on your own or you may sign up to take a mock test through a test preparation company like Mundo Academy.

The advantage with using testing companies is that they provide a similar context as you would take the actual test on a Saturday morning and can provide you with more detailed information about your strengths and areas of study focus. Even though this would take one of your Saturdays, it will save you time and energy in the long run. If you—like many other high school students—have purchased an SAT/ACT prep book, you know that they can be pretty lengthy and intimidating. Having a baseline score can help you focus on your areas of need and have specific subject areas to target when studying. You will have a clear starting point and goal. You then may study on your own or get specific tutoring to hone in on your skills.

Come take an exam with us! We often offer them for free, so don’t pass up the opportunity.
