Reclassification Support for Emergent Bilingual Students (6-12)
Our Reclassification Support program is designed for (P)LTELs who are bilingual in spoken English but need additional help with reading and writing. We focus on building crucial reading comprehension skills through tailored lessons and culturally relevant materials. Interactive small groups encourage active participation and a deep understanding of the ELPAC format. Students gain essential tools to master ELD Standards, fostering confidence and propelling them towards reclassification success.
Literacy Coaching (6-8)
Our Literacy Coaching program propels students in grades 6-8 to reading mastery. Utilizing iReady data and teacher recommendations, we form focused small groups tailored to individual needs. Students receive targeted instruction in phonics, fluency, and comprehension using engaging resources. Regular progress checks ensure students stay on track, with adjustments made to personalize the learning journey. In the second semester, we incorporate higher-level reading materials and tools to navigate complex texts, along with Smarter Balanced practice questions and exam readiness training. This comprehensive approach empowers students to become confident, independent readers and excel in their academic endeavors.
Academic Tutoring (6-8)
Academic Subject Tutoring covers all core areas including Math, Science, Foreign Language, Reading, Writing, and History. Our approach goes beyond simple instruction; tutors assess student understanding, identify learning gaps, and tailor lessons to meet individual needs. Whether a student requires an in-depth review of foundational concepts or minor clarifications, our experienced and subject matter expert tutors provide personalized support. Through ongoing informal assessments, tutors track progress and adjust lessons as needed, helping students build confidence and achieve mastery. Building trust between tutors and students is key to fostering academic growth, ensuring students feel supported and empowered to achieve their fullest potential.
